NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Exploring the Aviation – 10 days

Our Exploring the Aviation Industry course is the first of its kind in the country and the most popular programme among our courses, offering a unique opportunity to get onto the first rung of the career ladder within the Aviation industry. The course is delivered at Manchester Airport, by professional tutors from Trafford & Stockport College Group.

Over 10 days, participants will gain a firm understanding of Manchester Airport and how it operates, including its values, standards, and employer requirements. Plus, at the end of the course, you will be introduced to vacancies available around the airport and supported in applying for roles on the Manchester Airport site.

Entry Requirements:

• Must be 19+ as of the 31st of August 2025

• Unemployed and claiming benefit OR employed and earning less than £25,700 per year

• Must have been residing in the UK for 3 years+

• Must be able to provide a 5-year trackable history

• Must be able to pass a DBS check

• In date photo ID is required

• Must be able to attend the learning within the dates and times stipulated

• Demonstrate appropriate literacy skills through the completion of an initial assessment. Basic IT skills required.

Length:

10 days, Monday to Friday. You will need to attend an induction before the course starts.

Customer Service Training – 5 Day Training

The five-day free accredited training course will cover:

• Different types of customers, products and services within the Aviation industry

• How to meet customer needs and expectations to achieve customers satisfaction within the Aviation Industry

• Appearance and behaviour in the customer service role within an airport setting

• Legislation, regulations, and procedures relating to customer service that relates to the aviation industry

• Dealing with, and communicating customer problems with others

Hospitality & Catering – 2 Day Training

The two day free accredited training course will cover:

• Information on how to serve food and drinks in restaurants, bars and coffee shops within the Airport

• To develop confidence in keeping things clean and tidy and giving great customer service to all passengers

• To work in a kitchen - from storing food hygienically to cooking simple dishes ( Food Hygiene training on request)
